Chinese New Year

by skylover on Jan.26, 2009, under Personal, Year 2009

So fast here I am celebrating another Chinese New Year again. Everybody is bracing for a bad year this year at the sametime hopping that Year 2009 will also shed some good times too. Yes, indeed last year there has been many bad happenings ranging from Sichuan, economy crisis, invasion at one of India hotel and last and not least war by Israel.

Anyway, I can’t wait for this Saturday as its a special day for me. Its also an ang bao collection day but far more important than that. These few days not only was I busy packing my room and getting ready for painting to go ahead but also finding new song to add on to my collection. It has been quite a long time since I really search for new song and at the sametime start downloading anime, movies etc to add on to my current collection. There are just so many things that I used to do before I went India came to a halt for almost a year. Now that I’m getting more free time nowadays, I started back to do what I used to do last time. I do have my beloved gf who is very understanding and standing by me always as usual. I miss her even though she is not by my side at times since piority was given to our parents first whenever they need us around. That was something that we promised each other that no matter what, parents still come first before anything else.

They maybe there for us the most another 20 years down the road and after which we are on our own after they are not around. I agree that we cannot depend on them forever or rather follow what they say always since we are mature enough to do things on our own. Many of us took things for granted and will only regard after what has happen. This year ang bao collection gets a little smaller as many of us are busy with our own commitments. The tradition way of celebrating Chinese New Year is almost deminishing to such a large extend that we only treat it as if its a normal public holiday. I guess that’s the way the future would be as many more years comes by…

Reunion Dinner

by skylover on Jan.25, 2009, under Personal, Year 2009

Its about 1.18AM right now. Managed to clear most of the things in my room. This year Chinese New Year will be very different for me. I won’t be visiting so much place this year but I will be mostly at home. What will I be doing at home? Good question! I would be painting my room and getting ready to welcome a brand new layout for my room. It will be a makeover for my room this year. In fact I have been craving for a makeover for the past year or so.

I’m simply getting sick and tired of the current layout and design of it that I have to resort to a makeover. Just joking,  My room is getting messier as the days goes by that I had no choice but to do a makeover to organise all the stuff neatly. I needed more storage space than any other stuff as my room is small and the only way I could organized it is to build cabinets and more bookshelves to keep things in place.

This year reunion dinner would be as usual. Will be going over to my grandfather place to have dinner. This year will also be the 2nd year, I would be missing my grandmother’s curry. Yes, it has been 2 years plus since she passed away but still I could not forget the moment when she passed away at the ICU ward at TTSH. TTSH was also the place where I worked at as IT Support Assistance before my enlistment.  Even though its the past already but memories still stay deep inside me irregardless of what happens. She was somebody who dotes on me the most whenever I visit her during my freetime when I was young. I do complain about travelling so far sometime but never did I hate to go there too. The only thing I always complain the most is her hot curry which I could not stand eating even up till the point when she was in her dying moment. The way her curry was cooked couldn’t be found anywhere on earth. Nobody could simply cook the way she does especially not many baba people has left in Singapore.

Memories are meant to stay on even though a person is not there. There are many things which is not within our power to stop it. All we could do at times is to do what we could and appreciate what we have before it is gone. Cherish every moment you have and never take things for granted.

Pre-Chinese New Year

by skylover on Jan.25, 2009, under Personal, Year 2009

Its just less than a week before reunion dinner. This year I will be seeing more changes than before partly most of us are already out in the working world while some of us in NS. Time is never always on my side nor most people at this stage. It has been quite sometime since my last outing with all my friends and I hope I could gather everybody together to chit chat and catch up with time.

For those of you going for the last lap before graduation, Jia You!

Anybody interested to have a  gathering to play majong this Chinese New Year? It has been quite a long time since I played majong thus the thought of it is very tempting for me. I hope this year will have a chance to play again.. =X

One More Week

by skylover on Jan.15, 2009, under Personal

Chinese New Year is just round the corner and I have yet to purchase new clothes for this coming new year. Soon, I will be turning 22 soon in just a couple of weeks. It feels kinda of weird for not studying for quite a long time and yet not earning like an adult. Economy has not been very good recently but no matter the current allowance I have is still enough to tide me over this period though its about 4 times lower than anybody else working in the working world.

For those who have SB 800 Speed Light please do let me know as I would like to purchase it. Yes, my budget is about $S 350. Prices can be discussed.
